Having a day in Kathmandu and thinking about how to spend the day on a motorbike, then one day off-road motorcycle tour is a great idea. The tour starts from Kathmandu, and it covers about 75 km of total road distance, which offers the countryside landscape. It is a good possibility to get access to the rural village and see the local lives and scenic mountain views from a distance. Our one-day off-road drive will take you to Kakani, which is located at an altitude of 2030 m above sea level, and in clear weather you can see the stunning view of Langtang Himalaya, Ganesh Himal, and Gauri Shankar—the holy mountain of the Langtang region of Nepal. The drive mostly passes through a narrow off-road drive, and it is suitable if you are travelling as a passenger on a motorbike if you are not an experienced driver, or if you are an experienced driver, then our professional guide will lead the way and take you to the places that you should not miss. After an hour's drive to Kakani, you will have mostly 10 km of off-road to Chhare Bazar—a small local town where you will see agricultural farmland, the Chhare River, and a busy countryside marketplace. Chhare Bazar is a main shopping place for the countryside people to buy everyday needs products and for farmers who have something to sell, like crops left over from the family consumption or animals like goats, chickens, etc.
The road from Chhare to Kathmandu is smoother than the first part, but it is still narrow and passes through small rice fields and hills. Once you are about 7 km before reaching Kathmandu, then you will be driving through Shivapuri National Park, which is popular in Nepal for day hikes, bicycling, and motorbike tours. It is another scenic viewpoint to see the countryside landscape, the Langtang Himalaya Ranges. The total duration of this trip is about 4-5 hrs, depending on the time you spend at the viewpoints. The drive itself isn’t easy and is suitable for those who really want to experience a day off-road on a motorbike. When you are closer to Kathmandu, then we will continue our drive through the non-touristic part of Kathmandu, where only a rare tourist has access.
What to expect if you are riding as a passenger on a motorbike?
Our experienced guide will be driving the motorbike, and you will be enjoying the view of the countryside landscape and mountains and observing the local life and countryside livelihood as a passenger from the motorbike. You may take a break and spend the time wherever you like to stop and get into the rural area. The narrow off-road path through the countryside promises a great adventure.
