The Langtang Gosaikunda Trek covers all the attractions of the Langtang Valley Trek and offers you even more views of beautiful mountain landscapes. It finally takes you to the sacred Lake Gosaikunda which is very important for the Nepalese Hindus and Buddhists. The first part of the trail continues between high hills, forests and small villages as it is in the Langtang Valley Trek. The second part of the trail has a few ups and downs. The Langtang Gosaikunda Trek offers you more than you can see and experience during the Langtang Valley Trek, although it is a bit more challenging and steeper while heading towards Gosaikunda and while descending.

If you are generally fit, this is one of the most satisfying treks in the Langtang Region. The beautiful mountain and lake landscapes will definitely make you feel the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is worth taking the effort. The holy lake Gosaikunda is frozen in winter but in spring when the weather is nice it thaws. However, if it gets cold again, the lake can become covered with ice. It is believed that if you take a bath in water from this lake all your sins will be forgiven and you will be lucky for the rest of your life.

Best Season for Langtang Gosaikunda Lake Trek

The best times to do the Langtang Gosaikunda Lake Trek are spring (March–May)and autumn (September–November). Springtime brings the rhododendron forests to life, and the weather is usually pleasant and predictable. Autumn, on the other hand, typically features clear skies, providing breathtaking mountain vistas, along with cool air and agreeable trekking conditions.

Winter (December–February) brings snow and cold at higher altitudes, while the monsoon season (June–August) brings rain, slippery trails, and poor visibility, making trekking much more challenging to do.
